Old Posts New Twist On Pet Scams
You may want to be advised that Nigerian scams have now moved
to involve the purchase of innocent pets. Hopefully sellers will be
extremely cautious of buyers from other countries with stateside
agents. I have received 3 such e-mails in a 24 hour period.

Old Posts Giant Schnauzer skin
I have a 7 year old Giant Schnauzer. I acquired him 2 years
ago with a very flaky skin. I tried various food changes. He seemed
to be okay on Arden Grange, however, three months ago I tried him on
the original Duck raw food diet 3 slices in the moring with handful
of AG and two slices in the evening). Plus 500gm cod liver oil, 500g
Evening primrose oil and Dorwick garlic herb pills.

Old Posts Lhasa Apso/Terrier mix, tumor on her hind left leg
I just had a queston about my 13 year old (round 20lbs.give
or take a few) Lhasa Apso/Terrier mix. Around a year, or possibly a
little more around 2 yrs,ago i noticed that she had a growth in her
ear that looked like cauliflower, than several months ago i noticed
that she has some sort of tumor on her hind left leg-her mid back on
the left side-and one sort of in the middle of her chest almost on
the underbelly(all soft and about the size of a 1/2 dollar and all
under her skin),she also has something kinda hard but kinda soft near
the rear of her back under the skin and a couple months ago i sqeezed
it to see if anything would come out---thinkin it couldve been an
ingrown hair--and i felt it burst under her skin but nothing came
out.it went away instantly but now it's back and still the same size--
little smaller than a dime.and now just within the past 2 weeks she
had started to lose back hair. it goes from the middle of her back
than mohawks off towards her rear-end.she doesnt really scratch/lick
at the spot so im not sure what caused it.she also has not had a
change in her food so i dont think its a food allergy, but than again
im no doctor. so what im gettin at is trying to figure out what the
growth in her ear is,where the tumors came from, what is the smaller
thing on her back that i poped, and how can i get her hair to grow
back? i unfortunatly lost my job so i dont have money to take her to
the vet so im also askin if there is any way to help cure her that i
can buy at the store--be it food or shampoo or any other inexpensive
items. she is my beautiful old girl and i dont wanna lose her.id
appreciate ANY help or advice you can give...thank you

but they claim to be hypoallergenic and good with children. Can you
confirm this?

Old Posts Cat and Morning Glory plant toxicity.
My elderly, newly inherited cat
just started sneezing fits. I have changed her food and litter back
to previous versions. I noticed she was munching on some stray Morning
Glories and ripped them out of her contained deck area. Could the
sneezing be a reaction to plant toxicity? She has not been exposed
to other pets.

Old Posts Is eating foam bad?
Is ingesting polyurethane foam (stuffing from a 'Poof' type
chair) by a cat toxic? Our 8-1/2 yr. old cat (always indoors) died
last week and I believe it was the result of him eating something he
shouldn't have. It is a mystery what could have caused his death so
quickly (24 hrs or so). We have 2 other cats and I'm concerned they
may get into the same thing. I suspect it was the foam (treated with
fire retardant, etc.) and we have eliminated the source, but we'd
rest a bit easier if we knew the foam may have caused his death.

Old Posts Feral Cat
We took in an aprox. 5 month old, about to give birth female
cat, (we weren't sure if she was dumped, or just feral. She just
appeared in our back yard one day. After a couple months of food, &
visiting her outside, she warmed up to us & just before giving birth,
she insisted on coming inside & only within a couple of days of
starting to let us touch her. She was a great mother. We had to
separate her from the kittens at about 3 months so that we could get
them all spayed and neutered. We even got them injected with the ID
scanner thing. Within 2 more weeks of separation, (so she could heal
from surgery), they were back to nursing from her, & boy did she
want, & love it. But one day she just started attacking them. She
has become almost wild. She got outside, and will be gone for 2 to 3
days at time. Before she goes and when she comes back she is so
aggressive. She litterly attacks the kittens from across the room
viciously. We don't know what to do. She has taken to attacking us
partially. We put her in a separate room on cold nights, and don't
want her outside, but she longs to be outside. It seems so cruel to
have her alone in a bedroom to keep her from attacking the others or
us. She has her shots and is spayed. Why is she doing this, & what
can we do to fix it, if possible? Should we just let her stay
outside, providing food & water like before she had the babies? Is it
because she was feral to begin with? Please help? Thank You, Kathy
