Holistic Healing And Acupuncture

We all love our pets and want them to be as healthy as they can be. There are some important, yet simple things we can do to help our friends live a full & healthy life.

Good food & water is essential. Your pet’s food should be free of artificial colors, flavors & preservatives. Home prepared, if done correctly, can be a boon to your pet’s health. Cats are true carnivores & should have no corn or other carbohydrate fillers in their food.

Vaccinations can protect your pet but they can also induce or worsen immune problems, allergies & other chronic conditions. Most pets that receive their puppy/kitten vaccinations & then are boosted one year later will have effective immunity for many years. Blood antibody levels, ‘titers’ can help identify when your pet should receive a booster vaccination. Doing only the ‘core’ vaccines (DHPP for dogs & FVRCP for cats) will help your pet avoid unnecessary immune insults. After the initial rabies vaccination is done, the entire state of Florida acknowledges the 3 year rabies vaccination. Acupuncture is helpful in treating many medical conditions, especially arthritis of the spine and hips. The restoration of normal energy flow is the goal of acupuncture. This can be done with solid acupuncture needles or with the use of liquids through small needles (aquapuncture). Homeopathy is another energy modality than can aid a pet’s healing ability.

Vitamin, mineral, glandular & herbal supplements can be given to help your pet regain health & also maintain optimal health. Bach Flower Remedies can help a pet with emotional disturbances. Behavioral issues can be helped with these remedies and training techniques.

To determine the best ‘healing modality’ for your companion a veterinarian with experience is your best option.
